Working from home has its ups and down, one of those downs is when the refrigerator keeps beckoning you to come closer. As an entrepreneur, I need to watch what I eat; this doesn’t mean that I starve nor stop enjoying tasty meals. I have learned how to control my eating habits and go for something a little less fatty but nonetheless, healthy. In fact, one of my favourite snack time is junk time. Yes, I said it; I eat junk food on occasion. I am one of the healthiest people I know and I still eat junk food. I have found different ways to eat healthier while still enjoying a bag of crisps every now and again.
How to Create a New Year Healthy Eating Plan
It is possible for entrepreneurs to eat healthy meals, if they take their time to create a plan that they can stick with. For instance; having fresh vegetables already chopped and clean, makes it easier for you to prepare salads. When food is easily prepared, people tend to eat it more; this is why a lot of people go for junk food or quick snack food, it’s easier to prepare or doesn’t need any preparing. Raw fruit and vegetables can be cut up and placed into containers for easy access. Be careful with the fruit; fruit can cause you to gain weight due to the natural sugar.
There are other things that you can place around you so you are not heading to the fridge constantly; granola bars, Special K bars, Honey Nut Cheerios in a container, these are all great items to have for quick healthy eating on the go or while you are busy working.
How to have a healthy breakfast whilst working from home
Create your own New Year Healthy Eating Plan by putting these suggestions below into action. Entrepreneurs are notorious for skipping breakfast; if you are like this, smack yourself. The teachers weren’t lying when they said it was the most important meal of the day. Food is fuel, and you need to engrave this in your mind. Oatmeal ie porridge is one of the best breakfast that you could eat that is an easily prepared meal. Yoghurt with fruit is another great breakfast option or, you could mix the fruit and yoghurt in your oatmeal for a really tasty breakfast. Who said breakfast couldn’t be fun, health, and tasty?
Ideas for lunch
Lunch has become a nightmare to weight watchers and those who want to eat healthy. Because you are often by yourself at lunch time it is easier to overeat or eat something unhealthy. Plain salads with turkey and tuna salads are a great, quick, lunch that’s healthy and tasty and takes hardly any time to prepare or you can prepare these in advance. Find lunches on the internet that look good and try them out; don’t be afraid to alter these meals to your tasting. In your New Year Healthy Eating plan you could look for meals that are easily made; easily prepared meals mean that you won’t be tempted to grab that doughnut in the back of the fridge.
Entrepreneurs can create healthy dinners
I am a huge advocate of healthy dinners. Dinners are when the family comes together and it lets you show your family that eating healthy is important. With the new food rules at school and your spouse eating on the run, and you trying to eat in the middle of a project, everyone is constantly running and this might be their only chance of getting to eat healthy. I found a website called www.myrecipes.com that I absolutely love. This website lets you customize meals to your liking and is worth a look. I created meals that used only chicken, since chicken is a very healthy. Oh, by the way, if you are able to, eat mostly chicken in your diet or any other animal that has two legs or less. Two legged animals are healthy; skip the beef and pork and aim for chicken, fish, and birds.
Say no to junk food
Yeah right! As today’s economy is still not fully recovered from going down the drain and, it being easier to just grab a bag of chips, it is almost impossible to get rid of junk food. Junk food is cheaper than healthier snacks, everyone loves junk food, and sometimes we just have a craving for it. I am not going to tell you to kick out the junk food because I don’t believe in this; I do however, believe in making better food choices. There is room in my New Year Healthy Eating plan to allow myself junk food every day, I just limit the amount that I can have. I have found that if you take out all of the junk food, you will end up hating that pre-made salad. Go ahead and let yourself enjoy the wonderful taste of junk food but don’t eat more than one serving; the serving size can be found on the back of packages.
I really hope that you are a serious entrepreneur; you become serious about eating healthy. As you may know, most entrepreneurs are sitting behind a desk and that can’t be good for the body. Get up every hour just to stretch your legs, try to find different meals that you enjoy, and most importantly, don’t ever skimp on your health.
