IFE 2017 & Traverse 17 Conference
IFE 2017 at Excel London
For me this year’s International Food and Drink event at the Excel London is the most memorable in terms of the choices of new and innovative Teas, Gins & craft beers as well and Snacks and Confectioneries.
Well done to Sacoma Global Foods & Innovations as winners of the Best Social Responsibility Award 2017. Sacoma produces snacks working with Kenyan farmers and other countries in Africa.
Other highlights for me were:
1. I liked The Tea Makers of London collection mainly because they had a chocolate tea mix which I’m looking forward to purchasing.
2. I loved Old Tom Gin produced by Poetic Licence at no less than 41.6% Vol. It was both mind-blowing and smooth, quite shocking as a mid-morning sample.
3. Elephant Gin had 2 choices, the first was sweet and smooth but the second more was very good in terms of taste, texture and strength. I really liked this Gin and would definitely purchase it.
4. Cucumber Gin by the English Drinks Company in Shrewsbury. This Gin had a lovely and lasting after-taste, which I liked.
5. Ayamashe Green Pepper Sauce which can be found at www.ayamashee.com – Nigerian hot pepper sauce which I’m told compliments the sweet potato chips made by Sacoma.
6.NovelTea – a gin infused tea created by Tea-Venture which is a blend of tea with a kick of in.
Others worth mentioning and a must really are:
Tea Rex – www.tearex.co.uk – new fun idea for teas
Neema Authentic African Cuisine – www.neemafood.com
Gluten-free treats created by Fazana kazi-Hossain – www.glutenfreetreat.co.uk
Hoogly Tea a well presented stall with professional looking teas – www.hoolytea.com
